Retrieve Your Property From the City of Needville


The City of Needville is currently holding various types of property (valued at $100 or less) that are unclaimed and presumed abandoned, and which are subject to Title VI, Chapter 76 of the Texas Property Code.


Examples of unclaimed property include uncashed checks, deposits, refunds, overpayments, or any other transactions creating a credit balance. According to Sec. 76.201 of the Texas Property Code, the City of Needville is publishing the names of those persons or entities for whom the city is holding unclaimed property.

Steps to Claim Your Property:

  1. Review the Unclaimed Property Listing and search for your name.
  2. Complete the Unclaimed Property Claim Form.
  3. Submit the Unclaimed Property Form and proper documentation supporting your ownership to unclaimed property.
  4. We will also need a copy of your drivers license
  5. Allow 2-3 weeks for processing

*Please note that abandoned property is transferred to the State Comptroller's Office by July 1 of each year as follows:

  • For vendors, if the amounts are over $100 and are more than three (3) years old
  • For unclaimed refunds with Utility Billing and Municipal Court, if the amounts are over $100 and are more than one (1) year old

The City of Needville is a Type A General Law City and the City Council members are elected to serve two year terms. Terms are staggered and the City hold their annual election each May. The City Council meets regularly at City Hall on the second Wednesday of each month.
